Summary:

Under Section 87 or 88 of the STA 1985, owners can seek approval for structural alterations and additions which affect their lot. Rules are in place to maintain a look of the complex so seeking permission is an important process. In order to get strata company approval, you would either need the written authority from each owner or the proposal must be tabled at a general meeting of the strata company and voted on as a Resolution Without Dissent.
